Shane is a locally raised, board-certified nurse practitioner specializing in family medicine. He received all of his formal education locally, to include his Master of Science in Nursing degree from Touro University Nevada. Growing up in one of the fastest growing cities in the U.S. for the last 35 years has given Shane a unique, intangible understanding of the healthcare challenges associated with a desert climate as well as those of a service-oriented, worldwide vacation destination that has no “last call.” Shane brings with him over 17 years of Trauma, Intensive Care and Emergency Room nursing experience. While the bulk of his career has been spent in the hospitals and healthcare systems of southern Nevada, he has also spent over four years in the largest non-profit healthcare systems in Texas, Baylor Scott & White. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Shane augmented the intensive care units of New York-Presbyterian / Weill Cornell Medical Center in Manhattan (New York) and throughout the three Kaiser Permanente Hospitals in the greater Sacramento (California) area. Shane is a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps where he held a “Secret Clearance” status as a member of the Fleet Antiterrorism Security Company (F.A.S.T. Co) and oversaw security operations during the refueling overhaul of the Los Angeles-class submarine, the USS Dallas (SSN-700). Shane’s last deployment was with the 1st Battalion, 4th Marines to enforce weapon sanctions against Iraq in Operation Desert Thunder and Operation Safe Departure which saw the evacuation of 250 people from Eritrea due to civil unrest. In Shane’s off time, he enjoys endurance events and has competed in over 40 marathons and 18 full Ironman triathlons (swim 2.4 miles, bike 112 miles and run 26.2 miles totaling 140.6 miles) to include the Ironman World Championships in both St George Utah and Kailua-Kona Hawaii.
