The Medical Assistant is responsible for providing administrative support to ensure efficient operation of the medical office/clinic. The position supports both providers and patients through a variety of tasks related to patient care management, organization, and communication.

Position Description
The Medical Assistant is responsible for providing administrative support to ensure efficient operation of the medical office/clinic. The position supports both providers and patients through a variety of tasks related to patient care management, organization, and communication.
Candidate Responsibilities
- Greet patients and room them for their provider visit
- Measure patient vital signs and chart
- Interview patient to capture medical history including current medications being taken
- Assist with medical exams as requested
- Prepare and disinfect exam rooms and medical instruments
- Assist in scheduling appointments
- Review all prescribed services given by the provider with patients
- Update patient medical records as required
- Facilitate initiation of referrals/prior authorizations as requested by the provider
- Respond to electronic requests from providers, pharmacies, home health agencies, etc.
Candidate Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year experience as a medical assistant.
- Pass a minimum of one exam from the National Commission for Certifying Agencies preferred.
- Associate degree in a medical field preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
